On May 3 & 4th Best Friends will be hosting Pet Adoptathon 2008. It is a nationally recognized weekend where rescue groups come from all over try to find new homes for some well deserving animals. The event will be from 11am - 4pm for both Saturday and Sunday. There will be rescue groups for dogs and cats.
Some groups that are attending are Pet Adoption League, Cat Assistance, Tiny Treasures, Airdale Rescue, and Greyhound Rescue. We have sent out invitations to many more groups. If you know of any rescue groups (not shelters) who may be interested in attending have them contact Kelly or Santina at Best Friends at 914-997-0600. I will be keeping everyone posted on any additional rescue groups that will be attending.
Village Animal Hospital will also be at the event doing low cost micro chipping for $25. We will have popcorn and cotton candy for everyone, plus goodies for all adopted pets.
This is NOT an off leash play meetup!! This is strictly meant for people who are looking to adopt a pet (or 2).
