Details
This walk will be basically an "out & back" type of walk along the San Antonio River. The trails are paved and about 8-10 feet wide. This location will give everyone a chance to walk as little or as far as they prefer (with an option for over 10 miles for the real adventurous
). We will meet in the parking lot at the corner of VFW Blvd and Mission Pkwy. Here's some directions for anybody coming from the north:
Take IH 37 south 4 miles past downtown (Alamodome) to the Hot Wells exit.
Turn right on Hot Wells and proceed west for 1 mile until you pass through the 3rd light (Presa St).
Once you cross Presa the road will curve to the right.
The first Stop sign will be VFW Blvd.
Turn left on VFW Blvd, go over the river bridge to the first right (Mission Pkwy)
Turn right on Mission Pkwy and then right again into 1st parking lot.
If you want to mapquest it, use 927 VFW Blvd for a reference point (this is the apt complex by the river).
